About PourData

PourData turns the Texas Comptroller's mixed beverage filings into something you can actually read. Every business in Texas holding a mixed beverage permit reports its alcohol sales to the state every month, and those reports are public record. We have ingested every one back to January 2007 — 3.8 million filings covering 45,107 venues.

What we add

The raw filings are per permit, not per venue, so a bar that changes hands looks like two unrelated businesses. We resolve permits to physical venues, which matters because 29% of licensed addresses in Texas have hosted more than one operator. That is the difference between a venue with two years of history and the same venue with nineteen.

We also archive the things the state only publishes as current state. The TABC Credit Law Delinquent List is replaced each day with no history kept; we snapshot it daily, so the record of who has been behind on payments accumulates over time.

Who we are

PourData is an independent, self-funded data service, run by one person rather than a newsroom or a research firm. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts or the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. The registered entity is named in the terms of service.

What you are buying

A software subscription, nothing else. You pay, and access to the paid pages opens immediately — there is no onboarding call, no consultant and no work done by hand. We do not sell research, custom reports or advisory services.

What it is not

Figures are as filed by the businesses themselves and are subject to restatement by the state. They are alcohol receipts, not total revenue — where we show estimated total turnover it is clearly labelled as an estimate. Nothing here is a credit rating, an appraisal, or advice. Do not use it as the sole basis for extending credit or valuing a business.
